Our Citizen Science 4 Walkability Success Story Enters the Flourish Phase
Exciting news! Our URBAN500 initiative has been recognized as an outstanding citizen science project with the potential for expansion across the EU. This marks a significant milestone in our mission to enhance walkability through open science data collection and participatory urbanism.
We are thrilled to announce that we are now entering the Flourish Phase of the ScienceUs Horizon Europe scheme. This step brings us closer to securing direct funding and support, which will enable us to further develop our Urban500 open data platform and micro-mobility web app. Our focus remains on improving walkability in South East Europe and the Balkans, ensuring that urban spaces become more pedestrian-friendly and accessible.
A huge thank you to the partners of the SpaceUs Upscale team for welcoming us at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin on the 12th and 13th of March 2025 : Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Aix-Marseille University, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Bucharest, Université libre de Bruxelles, Sapienza Università di Roma, and the University of Tübingen. Their collaboration and expertise are instrumental in developing URBAN500 to this new phase of growth.
