Creative team of Placemaking Western Balkans has spent several sunny June days on the popular Silosi location, at the (still) wild side of Danube waterfront. We have worked together with visual artist Sanja Momčilović on laying out the abstract floral staircase mural. Amazing old granary silos structures (an important industrial heritage of the whole Lower Dorćol riverfront area and the former Danube River Port) have provided a visually striking backdrop to our intervention. The silos themselves have been a canvas for leading Belgrade's street-art artist TKV, whose work has been made Silosi one of the most popular destination in Belgrade.
Horizontal ( and vertical) artistic work are part of the the large family of placemaking tools which use art and graphic language to improve public spaces of everyday life.
This project has been a part of the 2022 Belgrade International Architecture Week and the placemaking workshop held on June 18th in Belgrade. Many thanks to unfettered support of the BINA organisation and especially it's Director Mrs. Danica Jovović Prodanović.
